Hinchingbrooke Hospital’s Neurology department provides a wide range of neurology services for outpatients in the Treatment Centre.
We also offer a full range of investigative facilities for outpatients, including CT and MRI performed on site. Neurophysiological investigations such as EEG and EMG are performed in Addenbrooke’s.
The department is supported by community-based Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis nurses, who share care with the hospital and offer support and advice helplines.
The department works closely with the physiotherapy, occupational therapy and orthotics departments and patients are referred to these departments if required.
Day case facilities for infusion treatments and investigations are available at Addenbrooke’s and patients can be directly linked into these. The Neurology Department can also admit patients to the Neurology ward at Addenbrooke’s if required, as the Consultants work in both hospitals.
Conditions we treat:
- Parkinson’s disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Peripheral neuropathy
- Myasthenia gravis
- As well as diseases of the spinal cord, muscle, nerve, neuromuscular junction and brain.
