In common with many other hospitals, we raise funds to buy items which we would otherwise not be able to afford. In recent years we have seen hugely successful fundraising campaigns, such as the £1.25 million raised for an MRI scanner. This was thanks to the extraordinary generosity of local people and was named the Freeman Suite, in recognition of the enormous contribution made by the Freemen of Huntingdon.
In partnership with the Hunts Post newspaper and Cambridgeshire Primary Care Trust, we are currently running a "New Life Appeal" to raise funds for the hospital's maternity unit and Special Care Baby Unit.
The hospital's Charity Stall Volunteer Fundraisers also work incredibly hard to raise funds for the hospital, collecting more than £1m over the past 25 years. In 2010-11, the Stall raised £33,000 and has funded new TV sets for some of the hospital's sickest patients in the Critical Care Centre.
Funds can be donated to Hinchingbrooke's charitable funds by cheque, made payable to "Hinchingbrooke HCT - Charity". Send cheques to the General Office (Cashiers) with an accompanying note explaining what the donation is for and the name and address of the donor so we can send a receipt.
Alternatively, donations can be paid through Hinchingbrooke's page on the Just Giving website. Paying online is especially convenient for the Trust, as the site enables the easy administration of Gift Aid, where we can reclaim additional tax from the Government on every pound donated to the funds.
Anyone interested in raising funds for the Trust can contact Claudius Ruvangu on 01480 847411, Glenda O'Connell on 01480 847412 or Paul Matthew on 01480 847409.
