
Chief Executive
Jim joined Hinchingbrooke in March 2012. He has more than 20 years of experience in the NHS at a national, regional and local level.
He is a former National Director of Leadership at the Department of Health and was Regional Director of Workforce and Organisational Development at NHS South Central Strategic Health Authority. He also provided executive level leadershp as Interim Chief Operating Officer at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust and more recently at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.
Medical Director
Mr Hisham Abdel-Rahman has been a consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at Hinchingbrooke since 2000, specialising in colposcopy and cancer services.
He began his medical career in Egypt in 1985, becoming a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1996. During his time at Hinchingbrooke he has been instrumental in the introduction of laparoscopic surgery to the gynaecology service and was the chairman of the Local Negotiating Committee. He is the hospital’s cancer lead clinician and the Anglia cancer network gynaecology cancer group chair and became Medical Director in October 2011.
Medical Director
Dr Catherine Hubbard has been a consultant in diagnostic radiology at Hinchingbrooke Hospital since 1985. She was Clinical Director of Radiology for 10 years when skill-mix initiatives for enhanced skills for radiographers, porters and radiographic helpers transformed the imaging service.
She was the lead radiologist for the introduction of triple assessment of breast disease and more recently the one stop rapid breast diagnosis service at Hinchingbrooke.
As Chairman of the Trust’s Medical Advisory Committee during the uncertain years from 2007-11 she led the clinical evaluation of the bids of the competitors for the Operational Franchise.
Fund raising is also an area of special interest being chairman of the first CT fundraising committee from 1987-9, closely involved with the fundraising to build the Woodlands Cancer Centre and also the MRI scanner in 2001.
Director of Nursing
Liz has spent her entire working career in the NHS, most of it in nursing roles. She qualified in East London in 1980 and subsequently worked in a variety of clinical posts before moving into management.
Since 1996, Liz has held Board level positions in Nursing and Operational roles and gained a Masters degree in Health Management from City University, London in 1997.
