Circle Now Meeting Staff

Staff within the Trust have been working very closely with our Circle colleagues to bring together their ideas for the future.

Partnership sessions have been held throughout November and December 2011 for all of our staff to give them the opportunity to discuss and develop plans for their divisions at Hinchingbrooke, giving them the chance to look at how we can work hand in hand to build on the great service that we currently give our patients.

These sessions were well attended, with more than 1,000 employees attending, and have generated good ideas and positive energy. Now we are planning follow up sessions to look at how these ideas can be implemented.

New Governance Arrangements

The Executive Team has worked in collaboration with NHS Midlands and East to ensure a smooth transition to Circle. The Trust Board which now oversees the partnership has three Non-Executive Directors.

The Chair is Mike Burrows supported by John Pye and Jill Challener as Non-Executive Directors.
Mike is a Chartered Accountant and has previously worked as a Non- Executive Director and audit chair of the NHS Midlands and East SHA Cluster.

John Pye had a full career in the RAF, retiring as an Air Commodore in 1999, and brings a wealth of Commercial and Governance experience to the Board.

Dr Jill Challener worked as a Consultant Paediatrician at Hinchingbrooke’s Children's Unit from 1983 until 2008.  She was Clinical Director of Children's Services and then Medical Director to Hunts PCT. Subsequently she became Medical Director to Cambridgeshire Community Services. Jill has an in depth understanding of the services provided by Hinchingbrooke Hospital and the value of them to the local community and she also worked as a Non-Executive Director for the previous Trust Board.

This is an exciting time for the Trust and we look forward to working with Circle to build a great future for Hinchingbrooke.
