
The consultation involves taking a full history including noting any bowel or bladder problems as well as any issues with sexual intercourse. A full vaginal examination is carried out as well as a rectal examination to assess the strength of the muscles and determine whether any further treatment is required.
Anyone who has suffered from a third or fourth degree tear after they have had their baby.
Anyone who has problems with their perineum which is related to childbirth.
