
We are a team of specialist doctors and nurses and an occupational therapist. The doctors and nurses have all undertaken specialist training to enable them to help people with advanced or progressive illnesses for example cancer, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, heart failure and many others.
Palliative care is the active holistic care of patients with any progressive illness. Management of pain and other symptoms and provision of psychological, social and spiritual support is paramount. The goal of palliative care is achievement of the best quality of life for patients and their families at any time in their illness.
The Palliative Care Team works closely with the doctors and nurses already looking after you, supporting and advising them on your care. We can:

Your doctor or specialist nurse may refer you to the team at any stage of your illness if you have specialist needs such as pain and symptom control, emotional support with your diagnosis or support for your family.
