If you are a patient, member of staff, visitor or someone close to you has been admitted to Hinchingbrooke Hospital, then the Chaplaincy Team are here to offer you spiritual and pastoral care and support.

This can be a time when many people, whether or not they have any religious affiliation, find strength and hope by discussing their concerns and talking through matters that are troubling them.

We offer this service impartially, based on a philosophy of respect for all.

The Chapel

The Hospital Chapel is situated on the Ground Floor in the Main Corridor and is for the use of patients, staff and visitors. It is open at all times for peace and quiet and may be used by people of any faith or those who have no religious affiliation.

The Chaplaincy Team

The Chaplaincy, Pastoral and Spiritual Care Team is led by Rev Scott Watts. Rev Catharine Furlong is the Assistant Chaplian. Scott and Catharine are supported by multi-faith ministers from the local community and a large team of lay and ordained volunteers.

We aim to visit all wards and as many departments as possible each week. OUr office is located next to the Chapel. If the door is open, feel free to call in and speak to us. There is also a quiet room next to the office, where confidential meetings can be held in a peaceful and informal setting.

How do I contact a Chaplain?

Contact can be made with Chaplains as they move about the hospital.

Non urgent messages can be left for the Chaplains by telephoning the Direct Line 01480 416125 or from within the hospital, extension 6125 and leaving a message on the voicemail.

Urgent contact can be made by telephoning the switchboard on 01480 416416 or from within the hospital, dialling 0. The switchboard operators will know the availability of the chaplains.
