Releasing Time to Care

“We no longer want patients feeling they need to say to us ‘I know you’re busy, but…’” – Hinchingbrooke Ward Manager

Releasing Time to Care encourages our own nurses to use their expert knowledge and experience to design how we deliver care to our patients.

It does this through:

  • Removing waste activity
  • Developing well organised wards
  • Knowing exactly how we are doing through the use of information boards
  • Getting feedback from patients and staff
  • Releasing staff time to make our care more reliable and safe

Patients on our wards, and their visitors, may see our nursing staff undertaking Releasing Time to Care work during their stay.  The programme has started and will be rolling out across all the wards over the next two years.

The programme aims to make our wards, which can be very complicated and busy places, into areas of calm where patients can receive dignified care to a high standard.
