The Fixed Price Package is the all-inclusive cost for that procedure. The package price is calculated on the basis that you are generally fit and healthy apart from the intended procedure and cannot be confirmed until after your hospital notes have been seen by the Private Patient Nurse Co-Ordinator and/or the Anaesthetist. It is important that you inform Mulberry staff of any underlying health problems as soon as possible as this may effect the package price. The price given is valid for 30 days from the date of issue, and payment is required on or before admission.
What are the benefits?
As a patient who is paying for your own treatment, you will naturally be concerned about the eventual bill. Certainty and peace of mind are important. The Fixed Price Package agreement is a single price and includes all costs relating to the inpatient care. The price is quoted before your treatment commences, and it guarantees that if any unforeseen complication relating to the quoted procedure arises during treatment, no extra costs will be incurred. Once agreed the price will not alter unless any of the conditions stated below apply.
Some patients may need to access Specialist Nursing Teams, or advice from Stoma Nursing, Dietician, Occupational Therapy etc. Where these services form part of the procedure you are undergoing, the cost is included in the Fixed Price Package. If additional services are requested or required, they will be at additional cost.
The following are included in the Fixed Price Package in respect of the stated procedure:
~ Accommodation, theatre fees, nursing care, diagnostic and therapeutic services and other inpatient costs.
~ Inpatient x-ray and physiotherapy
~ Inpatient drugs and dressings up to £10 per day
~ Inpatient consultant's fee (including anaesthetist)
~ Complimentary daily newspaper of your choice
~ Telephone calls up to £5
~ Initial consultation fee with your chosen Consultant.
~ The cost of any diagnostic tests and other consultant fees associated with those tests, ordered or requested by your Consultant as a result of your outpatient consultation.
~ Additional surgery not stated in the Fixed Price Package.
~ Follow-up appointments with the Consultant following discharge.
~ Consultant fees incurred from a secondary Consultant required during your stay, for a condition non-related to the treatment for which you have been admitted.
