Whether you work as a doctor, nurse or other health professional, as a porter, receptionist or in finance or human resources - working at Hinchingbrooke means that you are helping make a difference to the people who rely on us for their health care needs.
When you walk through the door at Hinchingbrooke one of the first things you notice is that the organisation is full of talented people, with a diverse range of backgrounds and skills. Not just in the fields of medicine, nursing or diagnostics but in every part of the organisation. Professional and committed people who work together in an open, trusting and supportive culture.
Why join us? Here are just a few of the reasons
When you join Hinchingbrooke, we don't just look at you for who you are now - we look at you for who you could be in the future. We take training very seriously, and encourage you to do the same. To help our employees deliver their best, we encourage and support our people in developing their capabilities to the full with a range of high quality learning and development opportunities. Indeed, in recognition of our undergraduate and postgraduate education for Doctors we were awarded the title of Partnership Teaching Hospital Trust by Cambridge University.
Ensuring the well-being of our workforce is a priority. We have a broad range of initiatives designed to promote the health, safety and welfare of all our employees - including programmes that encourage and support work/life balance through flexible working hours and opportunities to work from home. Which brings us back to our original question - why join us? You could ask everyone who works here that question and get a different answer each time. It's all sorts of things. It can be deeply rewarding, it can also be great fun. At times it can be frustrating. It can be tough, and it can be demanding. For some it's a good job they leave behind at the end of the day. For others it's their life and their passion.
If you're wondering whether we're the employer for you, the honest answer is that Hinchingbrooke is what you make of it. The opportunities are all out there, waiting. It's up to you to seize them.
Hinchingbrooke is currently part of the “Next Steps Project”, an innovative process being led by the NHS East of England Strategic Projects Team to find a new partner to run the hospital under an operating franchise. The organisation that wins the franchise – the franchisee – will be required to continue to deliver the services that are currently provided at the hospital, and there are no plans for this to change. Hinchingbrooke will remain an NHS hospital, its buildings and assets will remain in the NHS and Hinchingbrooke staff will continue to be employed by the NHS, retaining their NHS terms and conditions.
