One of the first things many visitors notice when they come to Hinchingbrooke Hospital for the first time is the large number of volunteers who work here.
There are around 400 people who come to the hospital and freely give their time and energy to help us provide a comfortable environment for patients.
The Red Cross shop and Charity stall not only provide a service to patients and visitors but they also produce profits which are spent on items for the hospital which we would not otherwise be able to afford.
Both the directions desk and the information office are staffed by volunteers.
Other local people who like to give their time visit the wards with the library trolley, talk to patients or help them to the chapel to attend the regular Thursday afternoon service.
