The type of options available are:-
- where you work less than full time hours, which can be worked over part weeks or reduced hours over five days a week. We are proud of our ability to provide part time work - currently over half our staff work part time.
- when two or more people share the role and responsibilities of one job and their contracts of employment are interdependent.
- when staff work only during the school terms.
- enables staff with 12 months service to take a break of up to five years for caring responsibilities, training, study leave, working abroad, voluntary work or travelling.
- following extended absence such as sick leave or maternity leave, allows you to reduce your normal hours of work on a temporary basis before a full return to work.
– working as part of our local Registration Scheme team, which provides a temporary staffing solution across the Trust, giving members flexible working hours.
– our flexible retirement scheme enables staff under the age of 65 to move into either part time work or new roles that preserve pension benefits wherever possible, and we have a ‘keep in touch ‘ register of retired staff who come in to help at times of pressure. The Trust's standard retirement age is 65.
- enables nurses who have been out of nursing for some time to refresh their skills.
– allows employee to work either permanently based at home, or to work at home on an ad hoc basis to allow for projects and reports to be completed in a quiet environment with no interruptions.
– the Trust has successfully developed shared rostering within some wards. This allows employees to plan their working pattern around other commitments and responsibilities outside of work, while continuing to provide an excellent standard of patient care.
- the number of hours to be worked per year is agreed at the start of your employment. Actual number of hours worked are then agreed with your manager locally on a monthly basis. This allows flexibility in working hours/patterns whilst still meeting the needs of the service.
